This is the beginning of a blog that will take you through my journey of studying business at Great Southern Institute of Technology. As I journal my thoughts, feelings and general progression on the course I hope to provide you with valuable information to help you with your views of the course.

So my first week is done and dusted, thankfully wasn't too nerve racking.  This week in class we covered blogs, go figure. We learnt how to set up our accounts and read a couple of blogs our lecturer had written about surfing and photography to give us an idea of how blogs work and should be laid out, but the toughest thing was trying to come up with a name for my blog.

In my organise personal work priorities and development class we covered online calendars and goal setting, in particularly SMART goals. Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Timely. Smart goal setting is a great way to plan objectives as it brings structure and trackability into your goals instead of imprecise resolutions. We used smart goals setting to figure out what we wanted get out of the course and how we were going to get there.

Overall the first week was great and I am looking forward to what the rest of the course has to offer and what new things I’m going to learn.
